Recognize your habits, acknowledge their impact, and empower yourself to transform them.
Even after years in our jobs or relationships, we sometimes feel stuck, longing for something different. You might think there’s an ideal way to do things, yet remain unsatisfied even after achieving your dreams. Comparing yourself to others, feeling like a failure, second-guessing decisions, and feeling alone or undeserving can result from this. Together, we examine your thoughts, perspectives, and lifelong influences.
If you’re struggling with your emotions, needs, and wants, therapy can be transformational. I offer a supportive environment for those trying to understand their inner world. Anxiety and traumatic experiences can hinder your ability to live fully and connect deeply with others. By releasing these emotional burdens, you can regain control of your life and find a path to recovery and wholeness.
Meet Maryam Abdulrazzak, BS,
Psychotherapy Extern
I am a psychotherapy extern who works with people in New York City and throughout NY state. I specialize in helping individuals navigate life’s challenges including difficulties in relationships and intimacy, anxiety and depression, traumatic experiences from the the past, self esteem, and complex family dynamics in order to create lasting change.
Feeling trapped and preventing yourself from realizing your potential can be caused by fear, hopelessness, and challenging relationships. Even while we can’t always eliminate obstacles, you can learn coping mechanisms and resilience that will support you as you strive toward fulfillment. You’ll discover how to proactively handle stressors instead of just reacting to them.
My therapeutic approach utilizes utilizes Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) techniques to help you restructure thought patterns and habits that may be preventing you from leading the life you deserve which includes guiding you through trauma processing, anxiety reduction, or relationship enhancement. By blending traditional therapeutic techniques with fitness-oriented strategies, I work with clients to build their self-esteem to develop a positive body-mind connection. This holistic approach recognizes the powerful interplay between physical and mental health, and I tailor my strategies to meet each client’s unique needs and goals.
My approach to treating each client is unique, and adapted to each individual, so that you can:
Empower yourself with healthy thinking patterns and reduce thinking that distorts your self-perception
Nurture unhealed emotional pain from the past
Explore how to connect and communicate with people in ways that are true to who you are
Establish boundaries that respect your needs and limitations
Improve your relationships to promote meaningful relationships with others
I encourage you to reach out today for a complimentary 30-minute phone session so that we can get to know each other.
Maryam Abdulrazzak is a therapy extern in training under Dr. Fanny Ng.
